C. Martin Harris, M.D., M.B.A., FHIMSS is the Chief Information Officer and Chairman of the Information Technology Division of Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, Dr. Harris is Executive Director of e-Cleveland Clinic, a series of e-health clinical programs offered over the Internet.

Dr. Harris received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. His residency training in general internal medicine was completed at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar fellowship in General Internal Medicine at The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and holds a Masters in Business Administration in Healthcare Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Charlene S. Underwood, MBA, FHIMSS is director of Government and Industry Affairs for Siemens Medical Solutions.
A nationally recognized expert in the field of healthcare informatics, Ms. Underwood directs Siemens outreach and advocacy activities in emerging market initiatives, specifically those related to government activities in healthcare information technology (HIT) including: the U.S.
Government’s legislative and regulatory activities related to HIT; national, state, and regional healthcare information networks; Electronic Health Record (EHR) strategies; standards and interoperability; quality , patient safety, and pay for performance; and EHR product certification.
Ms. Underwood is delivering Siemens solutions message to key stakeholders throughout the healthcare industry and on Capitol Hill, while developing programs that enable Siemens leadership in key government and industry initiatives. She provides valuable input and direction to healthcare and government leaders on the power of HIT to transform healthcare through her leadership in high-profile industry organizations. She served as the first chair of Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) Electronic Health Record Vendor Association (EHRVA), is a member of the American Health Information Community (AHIC) Quality Workgroup and Expert Panel, and has served on many other advisory groups involved in HIT development. She recently earned the HIMSS Fellow designation and was elected to serve on the HIMSS Board. She also serves on the Delaware Valley Chapter HIMSS Board.
Ms. Underwood has a long history of actively advocating for industry involvement in defining how HIT is a means to improve patient safety, reduce cost, and improve patient outcomes. She has held leadership roles in influential organizations including HL7, in which she participated in defining the organization’s EHR functional standards and model; and in the Computerized Patient Record Institute (CPRI), where she was on the founding committee of the Nicholas E. Davies award for excellence in EHR implementation.
A 35-year employee of Siemens Medical Solutions HIT division, she has participated in defining business strategies and requirements for many of its clinical solutions, including INVISION®, the healthcare industry’s most widely installed HIT system, and Soarian®, the only healthcare information solution built to streamline healthcare processes through workflow engine technology.
Ms. Underwood is a Phi Beta Kappa from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics. She earned an MBA in marketing from Temple University.
A native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, she is married with 3 children and enjoys fitness activities, gardening, travel, and community outreach.
Dr. Steve Arnold is Chief Medical Officer for Virginia Commonwealth University Health System’s Medicaid Managed Care Plans. He is also CEO of a medical consulting company, Global Healthcare Advisors.
Dr. Arnold has been a tireless champion of a national EHR implementation and, in his capacities as Chief Medical Officer for several large health plans, IPA’s and VP of Managed Care for a hospital system, he has worked to implement an enterprise-wide EHR as the foundation for quality, utilization, and disease management. He established one of the first demonstration projects for EHR implementation in a Health Plan (AmeriChoice) where, as director of the project he spent 6 months designing the program, obtained a grant from Merck, and achieved “buy-in” from physicians in the network. Dr. Arnold led the project to a successful conclusion over the two years he served as its Project Leader. Through Dr. Arnold's insistence, the EHR software was upgraded and customized to include stakeholder needs for public and preventive health, anticipatory guidance and disease management.
In addition to his work in the promotion of EHR systems, Dr. Arnold has designed EHR implementation projects and has helped design both inpatient and ambulatory EHR software products for both the US and UK.
Dr. Arnold has been a member of the HIMSS EHR Steering Committee and has chaired the EHR Implementation and Global Enterprise EHR Task Forces. In addition Dr. Arnold was a member of the advisory board of HIMSS’ Katrina Phoenix Project. He served as co-chair of two CCHIT work groups, "Certification" and "Test Plan" and, in 2008, was appointed a Commissioner of the CCHIT Board of Commissioners. Currently, he is the chairman of the Physicians' Community, a joint effort between HIMSS and AMDIS.
Dr. Arnold has authored articles on EHR Implementation, has been a frequent speaker at local and national EHR-related seminars and has also edited two books for HIMSS; one on EHR implementation in the ambulatory setting and the other for setting up Wi-Fi in a medical office.
Deb Bremer is Vice President of Oncology Business Technology for Pfizer, Inc.. She leads a global team of professionals who provide technology strategy, solutions and services spanning all phases of clinical trials, regulatory submissions, sales and marketing for Pfizer's Oncology Business Unit. Deb previously managed the same for all therapeutic areas of Pfizer's drug portfolio, but concentrating on pre-clinical safety testing through clinical drug development and post-marketing medical support. Her recent experiences also include leading a group responsible for coordinating Healthcare IT strategy, extending from the broader external healthcare arena through operationalizing concepts within Pfizer.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for CRIX International (Clinical Research Information eXchange), a not-for-profit formed to provide a secure, standards-based, shared infrastructure platform to accelerate and streamline the interaction between sponsors of new drug products, their business partners, research institutions, academia, and health authorities involved in bringing new therapies to patients. Deb previously served on the Board of Directors for the National Center for Women and IT, and also represented Pfizer on IMPACC (Information Management Policy and Affairs Coordinating Committee), a PhRMA advisory group for the management of information, and the systems and technologies that support it, and for formation of associated industry positions to influence policy-setting from a regulatory standpoint in the industry environment.
Prior to joining Pfizer in 1998, Deb held positions of increasing responsibility in General Dynamics' Data Systems Division and Computer Sciences Corporation's Technology Management Group. She holds a BS in Computer Science from the State University of New York, and an MBA with a concentration in Management and Organization from the University of New Haven, Connecticut.
Deb has worked in multiple industries, but finds the intersection of Information Technology and the Healthcare arena, her "sweet spot" combining her career choice discipline (IT) with what has captured her heart and passion (Healthcare).
Howard A. Burde, is a nationally recognized Health Information Technology lawyer, who provides general counsel and health law advice to health information technology and health care businesses, providers and payers.

Howard is an advisory Board Member of the Health Information Management Systems Society (“HIMSS”) (the health information technology trade association); a frequent speaker and representative of HIMSS; and the Founder and organizer of the HIMSS/HIT Venture Fair and the Building Your HIT Business program.
He has been appointed as the only independent lawyer on the bipartisan Pennsylvania Joint Legislative Committee on Health Reform. He serves on the editorial boards of the BNA Health Law Reporter and the Journal of Health and Life Sciences law.
He is a prolific author of four books on health law topics, and is currently speaking around the country on health care opportunities under the Federal Stimulus Legislation and on Privacy and Security law.
Willa Fields, DNSc, RN, FHIMSS, Professor in the School of Nursing at San Diego State University in San Diego, California, has a diverse background in clinical nursing, education, research, performance improvement, management, and information systems that span more than 40 years. She teaches courses in Informatics, Personnel Management, and Quality Improvement in the graduate nursing program. Her research area of interest is exploration of practices that improve patient safety and the provision of patient care. Specific investigations include the effects of computerized physician order entry on medication safety events and nurses’ work, and attitudes, knowledge/skills, practice, and barriers to evidence-based practice (EBP).
From 2000 to 2006 Dr. Fields was the Vice President of Patient Care Systems in the Information Systems Department at Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, California. She had responsibility for the patient care computer systems, including implementation of new core clinical systems that included physician order entry.
Dr. Fields has also published widely in the professional literature. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Science from the University of San Diego and her Masters of Science in Nursing from San Diego State University.
David Finn, CISA, CISM, is the Health Information Technology Officer for Symantec. Mr. Finn has 28 years’ experience in the planning, management and control of information technology and business processes, focusing on healthcare for the past 17 years. Prior to joining Symantec, he was the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Services for Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH), the largest pediatric integrated delivery system in the United States. He also served as the Privacy and Security Officer for TCH. Mr. Finn’s experience includes seven years as a healthcare consultant with PwC and Healthlink, serving last as the Executive Vice President of Operations for Healthlink.
Mr. Finn’s strength is in helping businesses optimize and control technology in order to improve operating efficiency and enhance business value. Mr. Finn’s key skills include IT governance and control, project management, systems selection and implementation, business and IT partnering; and IT audit, control and security. Mr. Finn received the Symantec Visionary Award in 2008 for Security.
During Mr. Finn’s tenure at Texas Children’s Hospital, the hospital won the ECRI Institute 2007 Health Devices Achievement Award, and because of Mr. Finn’s departmental support, TCH also was awarded recognition for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Mr. Finn has presented nationally and internationally on such topics as project management, professional leadership and staff development, and privacy and security. He has contributed to or written articles on IT management, disaster recovery and security for such as journals as CIO Digest and Baseline.
Mr. Finn holds a BA degree from the University of North Dakota and an MA from Angelo State University. In addition to HIMSS, Mr. Finn serves on the board of Houston Healthcare for the Homeless and is a member of Information Systems Audit & Control Association, American Health Information Management Association, and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives.
Mr. Holbrook is the Executive Vice President of Medicity. He is responsible for all customer experiences in the company that provides health care web products to RHIOs, IDNS, large laboratories, payors, hospitals and clinics. Mr. Holbrook has over 35 years experience in healthcare IT. His experience has been with both vendor and healthcare provider organizations. He built a multiple hospital system at Intermountain Health Care called MedSeries; was the thought leader and a key executive at Sunquest during the 1990’s including the customer support model; one of the founders and owners of KLAS; founded a consulting and web services/integration firm. Mr. Holbrook is currently a member of the HIMSS Enterprise Solution Committee and the HIMSS Board of Directors.
Jenifer Jarriel, MBA is the Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She has been with the College since May 1995. Before this position, she was Vice President of Information Services for Texas Children’s Hospital. She held that position for four years. Prior to Texas Children’s, she was Director of Information Services at Hermann Hospital, and with this organization for eleven and one-half years. She is serving as 2009 Past Chair of the LEARN organization consisting of 33 university affiliated institutions throughout Texas; HIMSS Board of Directors for 2009, 2010, 2011; Member of the AAMC GIR Committee for 2009, 2010, and 2011; and founding member of CHIME, College of Healthcare Information Management Executives. She holds an undergraduate degree from University of Houston Central Campus and an MBA from Houston Baptist University.
Ms. Jarriel has over 29 years of information technology leadership experience in healthcare and academically affiliated institutions. She is a proven leader in identifying, evaluating, and implementing enterprise-wide technology solutions. She has specific accomplishments in start-up operations and new program development requiring technical, human, and organizational resource planning. In addition to technology initiatives, she recently developed and implemented a Leadership Institute for Baylor College of Medicine senior management in partnership with the Human Resources Officer.
She is a Board member of The Periwinkle Foundation, a non-profit organization that develops and provides programs that positively change the lives of children, young adults and families who are challenged by cancer and other life threatening illnesses and are cared for at Texas Children's Hospital. She has been actively involved in its signature program, Camp Periwinkle, for over 10 years.
Keith Kerman joined Primus in 2003. Prior to joining Primus, Dr. Kerman was a general partner with Morgenthaler Ventures for six years and a partner with Marquette Venture Partners for two years. Dr. Kerman was previously an operating executive at U.S. Healthcare where he was president of that company's subsidiary providing outsourced services to self-funded health plans. Prior to joining U.S. Healthcare, Dr. Kerman was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania where he served on the clinical faculty at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics at The Wharton School. Dr. Kerman has a BA and a MD from Brown University and a MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Kerman focuses on the firm's healthcare investment activities. Dr. Kerman is a Director of AxioMed, Inc., Community Education Centers, Inc. and Laboratory Partners, Inc. Dr. Kerman also serves on The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Industrial Advisory Board.
Scott MacLean began his career at General Electric and has 20 years of experience in Information Technology. He also served as a campus chaplain in New York City, which has given him a unique perspective on human interaction and the implementation and application of technology.
Mr. MacLean is Chief Information Officer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and a Corporate Director at Partners HealthCare in Boston, Massachusetts. He oversees all information systems and telecommunications for Newton-Wellesley and participates in leading the Partners Information Systems Department. Current initiatives include implementation of a common revenue cycle system for Partners and strategic planning for HITECH compliance.
During his tenure at Partners, Mr. MacLean was Director of Clinical Systems at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he was responsible for systems related to patient safety such as physician order entry, electronic medical record, medication administration record and bar coding. He was Corporate Manager of the Partners Oncology Service Line Information Technology program, an initiative to improve patient safety and cancer outcomes through the use of computer systems.
Before joining Partners, he was Campus Director for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Columbia University. He taught leadership development, spiritual formation and reconciliation principles. Mr. MacLean is a graduate of the General Electric Technical Sales Program and was a Systems Engineer for CIMTEC, a programmable logic control integration company in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mr. MacLean is a Past President of the New England Chapter of HIMSS and has served on the Ambulatory Steering and Foundation Scholarship Committees. He has been an item writer for the CPHIMS exam. Mr. MacLean received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and a MBA in Healthcare Management from Boston University. He lives in Winchester, Massachusetts with his wife, two daughters and son.
Holly Miller, MD, MBA, FHIMSS is the Chief Medical Officer of MedAllies, a company that leverages Electronic Health Record implementations to facilitate physician office redesign to improve office practice efficiencies and disease management. MedAllies is building and operating a Health Information Exchange (HIE) to increase the completeness of information at the point of care, increase care coordination between health care stakeholders and standardize quality and public health reporting. At MedAllies her responsibilities include providing operational, tactical, and strategic collaborative leadership related to MedAllies’ consumer initiatives, EHR implementations and support, and the health information exchange.
Dr. Miller was formerly a Vice President and the Chief Medical Information Officer of University Hospitals and Health Systems, a community-based system with more than 150 locations, seven wholly-owned and four affiliated hospitals throughout Northern Ohio, where she was the senior clinical executive for information systems and technology responsible for the leadership and vision for the strategic planning, operations, integration and implementation of information systems and services at UH.
Prior to joining UH, she worked as a health information technology Managing Director for the Cleveland Clinic. She was responsible for the implementation and management of the PHR, Remote Monitoring, and Virtual Visit eCleveland Clinic programs. She coordinated the development of Clinical Internet Strategy at the Cleveland Clinic and supported the creation and advancement of the eHealth initiatives, exploring strategic partnerships and e-business opportunities. She also maintained a clinical practice in General Internal Medicine.
With more than 10 years of healthcare IT (HIT) experience, Dr. Miller is a frequent presenter at national meetings on HIT and PHRs, and has been active in healthcare informatics research.
As a member of HIMSS since 1999, Dr. Miller is on the HIMSS Board of Directors for a three year term that began in 2008. She previously chaired the HIMSS Personal Health Record Steering Committee, and was a physician leader of the HIMSS/AMDIS Physician Community
She is on the Dossia Physician Advisory Board, and is an ex-officio board member of Sandlot, LLC, a Texas health information exchange.
Dr Miller is currently serving as a grant reviewer for the Aligning Forces for Quality National Program Office for the Development Fund HIT grants. She previously served on the Public Programs Implementation Taskforce, and the Health Care Practice Taskforce of the National Governor’s Association State Alliance for e-Health. In Ohio she was appointed to serve on the Ohio Health Information Partnership Advisory Board, by Governor Ted Strickland; and the Department of Insurance Advisory Committee on Eligibility and Real Time Claims Adjudication. She was a member of the CCHIT PHR Advisory Task Force. Dr Miller co-chaired the 2008 HIMSS HIT Advocacy Week in Washington, DC. In 2007 she was selected as one of the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives by Modern Physician Magazine.
She is the lead author on a book about PHRs, titled, Personal Health Records, The Essential Missing Element in 21st Century Healthcare, published in 2009.
For 25 years Judy Murphy has been a pioneer and leader in the Nursing Informatics community, and holds national prominence as a Health Information Systems executive and much-sought after speaker for health informatics conferences. She is Vice President, Information Services at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an integrated delivery network with 14 hospitals, 120 ambulatory centers, home health agencies, and 28,000 employees.
Ms. Murphy oversees all application software supporting clinical and business operations at Aurora’s acute care facilities and is project executive for Aurora’s Electronic Health Record initiative. She helps set strategic direction and annual goals to evolve the Electronic Health Record initiative at Aurora in order to provide patients with the highest quality/lowest cost care than they can get anywhere else in Wisconsin, and has a long-standing reputation of patient advocacy and maintaining a "patient-centric" point of view. She has directed the implementation and support of applications in all of Aurora's hospitals since 1995; including the opening of 4 new hospitals with all hospital information system functions, clinical systems, and digital imaging. She has helped Aurora Health Care receive Hospital & Health Networks' "100 Most Wired" award for the last seven years.
Ms. Murphy publishes and lectures nationally and internationally on system implementation methodologies, automated clinical documentation, and the use of technology to support evidence-based practice. She has written a column in the Journal of Healthcare Information Management for the last 2 years. Dedicated, passionate, and committed to the transformation enabled by health information technology, she has been on numerous informatics conference planning committees and is a tireless volunteer in many aspects of organizational work. Ms. Murphy was on the American Medical Informatics Association Board of Directors for 6 years and is a Fellow in both the American College of Medical Informatics and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. She was the recipient of the 2006 HIMSS Nursing Informatics Leadership Award, and in 2007 was named one of the "20 People Who Make Healthcare Better" by HealthLeaders magazine. In 2009, she was appointed to serve on the newly-created Health Information Technology (HIT) Standards Committee, which is a 23-member federal advisory body to the Office of the National Coordinator for HIT, established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
Miriam Paramore, Senior Vice President – Corporate Strategy and Public Affairs, Emdeon, Inc.
As Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Public Affairs for Emdeon, Miriam Paramore is responsible for long-term strategic planning, government affairs, corporate communications, and strategic social responsibility programs.. Paramore has extensive healthcare and technology experience, is a national speaker, and recently joined the board of trustees for CareSource Management Group. Paramore is also a member of the national board of directors for the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and the immediate past Chair of the Louisville Health Information Exchange. She currently chairs the HIMSS Financial Systems Steering Committee, and serves on the eHealth Advisory Committee for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. As a longtime advocate for HIT in the public sector, Paramore helped lead the 2008 and 2009 HIMSS Kentucky State Advocacy Days and participated in many HIMSS Advocacy Days in DC. She is working actively to reframe the conversation about healthcare in the U.S. around simple cost-saving initiatives that are available today. She delivered opening remarks to The Health Policy Forum at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver and is currently working with the Congressional Budget Office helping to score savings from various health reform proposals.
Carol Selvey, MHSA, CPHIMS, FHIMSS is Associate Vice President of Business Development with Iatric Systems, Inc., an innovative healthcare software and integration services company. Carol has over twenty-five years of experience in leadership and operational management, for both consulting and information system vendors in the health information technology (HIT) and systems industry.
Carol has a BA degree in French from Vassar College and a Masters in Health Services Administration from the University of Kansas. She is a member of the national Board of Directors of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), is a HIMSS Fellow (FHIMSS), and a Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS). Carol is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and Southwest Florida Health Information Management Association (SWFHIMA, a chapter of AHIMA). She is based in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
Dr. Steltenkamp is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky with experience in private practice and traditional academic medicine. Dr. Steltenkamp received a B.S. from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH and an M.D. from the University of Cincinnati. After completing her MBA at the University of Kentucky, she became particularly interested in Healthcare Information Technology and Financing and their impact on her ability to provide the highest quality of care for her patients in a cost-effective manner.
Dr. Steltenkamp is the Chief Medical Information Officer for UK HealthCare and is the Co-Chair of the Kentucky eHealth Network. She is an active clinician, educator, and funded researcher. She is a recognized leader in the implementation and use of the electronic medical record to improve health outcomes.
